Welcome to the home page of Emanuele Angelo Bagnaschi
I am a physicist working in the field of phenomenology of particle physics. In other words, I work on developing theoretical predictions to test our particle physics theories at experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva.
If you are curious about my scientific activity, you can find a more detailed discussion in the Science section.
During the course of my scientific career I have moved through various European nations.
From November 2022 I am a staff INFN researcher at the INFN national labs in Frascati, near Rome.
In 2022, until November, I was working as senior research fellow at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
From September 2021 to December 2021, I was postdoctoral research at the Università di Roma Tre, in Roma, Italy.
From October 2018 to September 2021 I was postdoctoral researcher at the Paul Scherrer Institut(PSI) in Villigen, Switzerland.
Before moving to Villigen, I worked for four years at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg, Germany.
I did my graduate studies at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Hautes Énergies (LPTHE) in Paris and I was awarded my Ph.D. by the Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 (now Université de Paris) with a thesis on Higgs precision phenomenology at the LHC and on the characterization of theoretical uncertainties.
Previously, I obtained my master degree at the University of Milano with a major in high energy theoretical physics.
I am a passionate supporter of Open Source software and I have a strong background in Linux and FreeBSD. While in Milano I administered the Laboratorio di Calcolo e Multimedia and the theoretical group computing farm, both multi-nodes clusters composed of Debian Linux systems.
While not in front of my computers, I like riding my bike around Switzerland, travelling around the world and taking photographs with my camera. And being Italian, I enjoy cooking, of course.
